Buyer relationships
Marieke de Vries
Takes the brief, holds the account, and is the person you call when something is wrong. Owns the quote from request to signature.
PreviewDemonstration build. Figures are invented and the trade detail is a best guess — flag anything wrong.
About Vertex
Vertex sits between Chinese manufacturing and businesses that buy in volume. We are four people, not a platform with a support queue, and each of us owns a part of the job end to end.
Who you deal with
Buyer relationships
Marieke de Vries
Takes the brief, holds the account, and is the person you call when something is wrong. Owns the quote from request to signature.
Supplier relationships
Daniel Okonkwo
Finds and audits the factories, negotiates the board price, and keeps the roster honest. Has walked every floor on the catalogue.
Operations and QC
Lan Pham
Books inspections, chases samples, prepares export documents and watches the container out of the port.
Technology
Tomas Arnesen
Builds and runs this platform, the quoting tools and the assistant.
A bigger agency would give you an account manager and a ticket system. We think the named-person model is the reason to use us, so we are not in a hurry to grow out of it.
How we work
Not the ex-factory price with the awkward parts left off. Tooling, samples, inspection, freight and duty are all named before you commit.
A shortlist is worth something; a directory is not. If we have not run production with a factory, it is not in the catalogue.
You buy from Vertex, not from a factory you have never met. When a run goes wrong there is no argument about whose problem it is.
If the volume does not suit the factory, or the target price is not real, we tell you at the brief rather than three weeks into sampling.
Where we are
Buyers deal with someone in their own working day. Factories deal with someone in theirs. The handover between the two is our job, not yours.
